Hi again !
Trust me , i too am upset on going for “long break” these days 😦
No , i have not made any excuses up in my mind , the only trouble was with – the little mess that was created in my head.
Well , no issues in sharing them..
First , i am always messed up with basically two things – “What to learn” and “How to Learn and implement”
The problem mostly is with the implementing part.
Sadness is , when you understand everything yet you can’t submit a feedback ( it frustrates ME )
Like i discussed with a mentor of mine , there are lots of things on the plate as for now ..
Starting with , “College”. Entering into 3rd semester ( 2nd year ) is no less than a pain.. The burden got +1’ed. Shaked hands with completely new subjects like , Data Structure , Computer Organization ( mentioning these two as they are not only screwing me up but are also my ” departmental” subjects )
Data Structure – A world of fun with lots of algorithms as rides and topics such as – Stacks , Queue , Linked list , Trees etc as special rides
The more i learn , the more i will share, currently i am in hands with linked lists and stacks. Learning the basics and also helping myself to write ” proper codes ” πŸ™‚
Computer Organization – Three weeks passed and not that i have ever missed a class of the subject , butΒ  feel sorry for i cannot talk about the rides || special rides it is going to provide.
Though the subject deals with how the hardware components operate and the way they are connected together to form the computer system , it provides knowledge of the analog part too.
Next , C is still with me πŸ™‚ i am yet to finish few topics of C very properly.
Thanks to kushal da , for giving me an online tutorial for C. Here it is – https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEEAD1D187A7CCD6C
Very helpful πŸ™‚
Oh yes ! My Summer Training is still going on , i am so far a happy and successful part of it. There were lots of topics covered , in Python – The Basics , About Loops ,Β  Lists , Strings , Exceptions , and today’s session on Classes etc.
Things are fine so far πŸ™‚

Shall switch again ( soon )
P.S – One can’t really have a better life than this ( Keep wondering if it was a satire πŸ˜‰ )

A Month and Three Days More

Hi all πŸ™‚

There was no reason for the break i took this time except one – i was a little busy with the summer training and returning back to college.
Yes , finally the “Happy Days” i was leading are over as college came back into being. The fruitful days are up 😦 and yes and yes that is saddest part till now.

As i discontinued writing up , i couldn’tΒ  fully share things bout the summer training.
The topics covered after the last day were productive enough and included sessions of topics i never had quite a knowledge of.. Well , i would say i am still working on them.

DAY 7th – DAY 8th — 8th July’15 & 10th July ’15

The next sessions consisted of Version Control System.. basically Mercurial and Git.
We were given proper hands-on session to know about them and it was very properly explained as well
( I shall ( though not very soon ) ) would provide blogs on all i know about VCS as i have yet to learn a few more things.

DAY 9th – DAY 10th — 13th July’15 , 15th July’ 15 & 17th July’ 15

After VCS , Sayan and rtnpro ( their IRC nicks ) gave us details about how to create web pages.. It wont be quite tough to catch that the topics covered were – HTML and CSS.
The third was about CSS properties.
We came to know about a lot of properties used in CSS ( shall provide a blog on this too πŸ™‚ )
The sessions were fun and we were stuffed with all the basics of the above two πŸ™‚
We successfully created our web page ( which was given as an assignment )

DAY 11th – Day 12th — 20st July’ 15 & 22nd July ‘ 15

And the most awaited , ” python” was finally introduced amongst us.
The first was just an hour session and contained onlyΒ  few basics. The second day of python contained about – Functions , Modules and Looping.
Most of which i knew about and also we were given two codes to write during the session itself πŸ™‚

P.S – Happy Days are yet alive as long as there is something so much exciting happening along !

Days on #dgplug

Hello again πŸ™‚

Yes , i took a break again ( for a week this time )
Now that it is all about the summer training and three more days were very well spent on #dgplug channel

DAY 3 – 24th June 2015

As in our last session we were given links aboutΒ  FHS – File Hierarchy Standards.
So , today was all about the queries we had with the links provided with Kushal da answering each oneΒ  of us πŸ™‚
Came to know about many things , i had sparse or i can NO knowledge of !!

DAY 4 – 30th June 2015

Admist of these days , we were sent links to study about our next topic , that was about VI/VIM editor.
Vi or Vim – is simply a text editor that allows us to edit someΒ  file.
Here are few links to that were given to us to know about vim —

All Vi asks for is practice as there are plenty of commands to keep tracks of.
Today , was all about the questions we had about VIM.
The widely asked question being – ” Why do we use VIM over other editors ? ”
A nice question indeed with lots of interesting answers as well πŸ™‚
At last . we were served – http://dgplug.org/irclogs/2012/rst-primer/Β  to read for our next class,

4th July 2015 – Late Evening

After i went through the link , had an anxiety to create the same πŸ˜›
Well , it didn’t took a long but i made an html file exactly same as the above link πŸ™‚ with “test.rst” as my vi file and “test.html” as my presentation slide.
Had Questions aboutΒ  – Literal Blocks , Ordered lists , Sections and many more. Few of which were cleared my google andΒ  few by IRC members and the left ones , by Kushal Da πŸ™‚

*Note – rst2s5 made the rst htmlΒ  file that way , rst2html didn’tΒ  ( wondering what i wrote ? Won’t be a lot of trouble to google about “s5” )

DAY 5Β  – 2nd July 2015

Finally , the little doubts were swept off.
I don’t know what i am supposed to do for my next class πŸ˜› Well , there is a lot to kearn πŸ™‚
and yes , we were asked to give our feedback on the sessions being held ( Words won’t be enough to say how beneficial they are to anyone who wants to ” LEARN ”
Downloaded “asciinem” as told ( yet to google about it ) and mysql too !

P.SΒ  – I wish i could stay on IRC the whole day.. and yes , i am Learning πŸ™‚

A New Evening !!

DAY- 2
The title shows it , i am here to discuss about the second day of my summer training.
Today , i personally felt i came to know about a lot of things ( i had no clue of ) and these questions never popped up into my tiny head πŸ˜›
The process was quiet fast and it was taking me a little time to understand a few questions and their answers too ( all thanks to google.com πŸ™‚ )
After the Q/A session ended , we were provided with a few links that we have to go through for the next class that is to happen on 24th june 2015 at 18:30 P.M IST
It was now when i have finished reading the links except about fhs ( it’s quiet big πŸ˜› needs time )
Here are yesterday’s links :

Click to access i-want-2-do-project-tell-me-wat-2-do.pdf

http://dgplug.org/irclogs/kushal_fhs_class.log – IRC logs for FHS
http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html – The book for FHS

The links are not only great to read over and over again but are helpful and beneficial too , for one who really is interested in gathering knowledge πŸ™‚
It has been a really long time since i have read them. The brain feels good after recalling them again πŸ™‚

P.S – Looking forward for more and more things to grasp.

The Summer Training – 2015

Ahhhh ,Β  this is exciting.
Frankly Speaking , usually at the beginning when i was completely new to the FOSS world and just began my learning , i was often said by Kushal Da to go through the previous years ” IRC logs ” and i followed it too. I saw the conversations there ( some were too funny πŸ˜€ ) , people helping each other , pulling each other’s leg and what not. Saw the heading stated as , SUMMER TRAINING. Though , had no idea what it was ( at that time ) and later when i got puffed up with everything , i came to know what ” summer training ” actually was.
Since then , wanted to be a part of it , wanted to see those things exactly happening as it was there in the ” IRC logs ”
Well , the time came.

DAY – 1

20th June ‘ 15 – The 8th session of the summer training and yes, i am a proud part of it πŸ™‚
I was excited since morning , logged into IRC ( Which i usually do ) but today it was the other part of my exciting world.
Spent my entire day reading the last year’s IRC logs.. ( and trust me, it benefits a lot )
Later at 18:30 P.M ( according to the IST ) , was when Kushal Da showed up. There were other volunteers too , including Chandan Kumar , Devyani Di , Sayan Choudhary and many others i am yet to know about πŸ™‚
I was not new , so was having my part of fun πŸ˜‰Β  Seeing everyone talking , asking their questions ( of which , i knew answers already ) , Learning a few things i had no idea of.
and the best part was , Kushal Da answering everyone so patiently πŸ™‚ I just had my fingers crossed ( if you know what i mean πŸ˜‰ )
There were around 130 users in all , which was a fascinating thing to see. It is nice to know there are other people who can crave so much in for learning.
Today , it was an introduction class and a question and answer session was held then after.
We were given a few links –

Click to access communication-guidelines.pdf

Click to access mailing-list-etiquette.pdf

and were told to read them before our next class / session.
Looking forward for a brand new class and also a lot of new things to learn.
P.S – In my third link , it was mentioned – “We Owe a lot to this community ” , sure we do πŸ™‚
So , i thank all of you for helping us , giving us your precious time and putting in efforts for us.
and all we can do is , do our best and slowly and steadily become a successful Contributor / Developer πŸ™‚
